Greenwood, Ind. – Three members of the Transylvania baseball team received postseason conference recognition, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced Tuesday.

Junior catcher/designated hitter Blake Hart was selected for All-HCAC Honorable Mention, while freshman catcher Cole Ratliff was also chosen as an All-HCAC Honorable Mention awardee.

Senior Will Adams (Murray, Ky. / Murray HS) was selected by the HCAC to the All-Sportsmanship Team for the 2017 season.

Hart (Hebron, Ky. / Conner) wrapped up a productive junior season, leading the team with seven home runs and 26 runs batted in. The junior tied for the team lead in walks (18), and ranked fourth on the Pioneers in total hits (34).

Hart carried a slugging percentage of .458 and an on-base percentage of .358.

Ratliff posted a strong start in his first season in Lexington, playing in 29 games and tallying 29 hits. The junior tabbed 12 walks, nine runs batted in, and posted a slugging percentage of .431, fifth-best among Pioneer batters. Ratliff assumed a starting role late in the season offensive and defensively for the Pioneers, providing versatility and durability behind the plate.

Transylvania is projected to return a veteran-laden team in 2018 with Hart, Ratliff, and six other starters back in the lineup.
