Delaware, Ohio – The Transylvania men's golf team wrapped up the fall portion of its 2017 season on Monday in the third round of the Gordin Classic.
After 36 holes of play on Sunday, the Pioneers completed 18 more on Monday, led by junior Blake Young, who shot a team-best two-over par 73 in the third round. Young's three-day score of 230 slotted him in a tie for 34th place on the individual leaderboard.
Junior Jack Berger, who was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for men's golf earlier in the day, finished second among his Pioneer peers with a three-round score of 237. Berger shot identical scores of 78 in the first two rounds to land 48th on the individual leaderboard.
The Pioneers checked in at 12th place as a team to finish the week.
With the Gordin Classic in the books, Transylvania will break for the winter months before resuming play in mid-March of 2018. The Pioneers are pursuing what would be their 12th-straight conference championship and successive 12th-consecutive trip to the NCAA Championships.
