Greenwood, Ind. – After picking up two wins this weekend in shutout fashion, Transylvania sophomore goalkeeper Drew Grisham has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week ending September 10.
Grisham, a sophomore from Mason, Ohio, was credited for two wins in goal as the Pioneers picked up a pair of shutout victories in Mount Berry Georgia this weekend against Birmingham-Southern College and Berry College.
In Saturday's 1-0 win against Birmingham-Southern, Grisham teamed up with fellow sophomore Chandler Gaunce to record a clean sheet. Grisham followed that up with another half of shutout work in Sunday's 2-0 victory versus Berry. In four appearances elapsing 180 minutes this season, Grisham has not allowed a goal for the Pioneers.
The award is the first of Grisham's career and the second player of the week award garnered by a Transylvania men's soccer player (Riley Calhoon, September 5).
Grisham and the Pioneers return to play Thursday, September 14 as they host Centre College at Pat Deacon Stadium in Lexington, Kentucky.
