A 36-hole facility situated on 300 acres of picturesque rolling terrain located seven miles northwest of downtown Lexington, the Transylvania men’s golf team calls the University Club of Lexington their home course.
Designed by famed American golf course designer Arthur Hills, The University Club contains two 18-hole courses: the Big Blue Course and the Wildcat Course. Both courses feature bent grass from tee-to-green and multiple tee boxes for challenging play at any level.
The Pioneers have crafted a tradition of ringing in a new athletic year with the annual Transylvania Fall Invitational, which typically falls on the Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day Weekend and brings in top-level competition from all over the country at the Division III level.
The grounds at the University Club feature picturesque rolling terrain and contains a dozen lakes, ponds, and streams.
In addition to the championship golf courses, the University Club is anchored by a state-of-the-art 20-acre practice facility featuring multiple target greens, practice pitching and bunker areas, and two practice putting greens.
The course has hosted many notable championship events, including the first two rounds of the 2019 and 2015 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships, the SEC Tournament, Kentucky State AM, and the Kentucky Open. It has been ranked as one of the top 10 best golf courses in Kentucky by Golf Digest magazine.
