Year: Class of 2018

A two-sport athlete during her time at Transylvania, Mattingly was one of the first natural talents to come through the Transy women’s basketball program during its formative years. A versatile player, Mattingly joined the 1,000-point club prior to the advent of the three-point line. Regarded as a well-rounded teammate and a team leader, Mattingly was relied on heavily as a primary scoring option as well as the team’s lockdown defender for the opponent’s top scorer.

Like many of her women’s basketball teammates at the time, Mattingly joined the Transy field hockey team where she was known as one of the strongest defensive backs in the two seasons she played. Having never previously played the sport before coming to Transy, many teammates and coaches said she was a natural. Her contributions to multiple Transylvania athletic teams set the bar and an example for early-era excellence in Transylvania Athletics.
