As the number one player for singles and doubles during her time with the Transylvania tennis team, Richardson Lalonde was one of the defining student-athletes for the program during the 1990s.
Richardson Lalonde started her career at Transylvania in 1993 after a decorated high school career at Ballard High School in Louisville and began establishing a standard for excellence with the Transylvania women’s tennis program. She soon became a regular on various championship stages, winning the Great Lakes Regional Tournament in singles in her junior season. Richardson’s dominance commanded notice, winning NAIA All-District recognition from 1993 through 1996.
During Richardson Lalonde’s tenure at Transylvania, the women’s tennis program experienced some of the deepest advancements into national postseason play it had ever ventured. She completed her career by capturing the illustrious Pioneer Female Athlete of the Year award in 1996.
