Daniel Barr ’42 was an outstanding football player during his Transylvania career, earning an athletic scholarship and All-Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference team accolades. Following graduation and service in the U.S. Navy, Barr played in the NFL for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Detroit Lions before returning to his alma mater as a professor.
