Don Lane completed his career as the most successful men’s basketball coach in Transylvania’s storied history with a 509-241 record in 26 seasons. He guided the Pioneers into post-season play nine times, including his final season, when his 2001 Transy team was ranked No. 1 in the country and posted a 27-2 record. A two-time national coach of the year, he also served as Transylvania’s athletics director for 20 years.
