Milly V. Rodes joined the Transylvania physical education department in 1952 and quickly earned a reputation for being an innovator. At Transy, she taught modern dance, tennis, and physical education and coached the women’s tennis team. She was also among the founders of Kentucky’s first cheerleading clinic, which became the model for later camps for basketball, soccer, and tennis.
