Johnson named HCAC Player of the Week
GREENWOOD, Ind. - Freshman right-handed pitcher Braden Johnson's historical no-hitter performance has awarded him Heartland Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors, the league announced Monday.

Johnson tossed the first nine-inning no-hitter in the modern era of Transylvanis baseball. The no-hitter was also the first in the HCAC since 2005 and only the fourth no-hitter in the history of the conference. Johnson led the Pioneers to a 12-0 win over Defiance as the Pioneers (10-10, 4-2 HCAC) earned a three-game sweep over the Jackets (7-11, 1-5 HCAC). The freshman faced 28 batters and recorded five strikeouts in the victory.

Transylvania will play host to Hanover in a single game contest Tuesday and will welcome Earlham to Lexington for a three-game series Friday and Saturday.
