Zeitz windup

Atlanta, Ga. – Transylvania field hockey senior Harper Zeitz was named to the All-SAA First Team, the Southern Athletic Association announced on Monday as the conference office announced its list of 2019 All-Conference award winners.

Zeitz, a senior from Louisville, Kentucky (Eastern HS) was Transylvania's representative to the SAA All-Conference list of awardees for the 2019 season.

The defender-midfielder had a banner season for the Transylvania field hockey team, leading the Pioneers in goals while serving as one of their most ardent backline performers. Zeitz was the co-leader on the Pioneers during the 2019 campaign with six goals and also led the team with 16 points and four assists.

Zeitz had the game-winning goal for the Pioneers in overtime of their 4-3 conference win over Sewanee on October 12, providing two goals in the contest.

With Zeitz anchoring Transylvania's defense, the Pioneers reduced their goals-allowed average from last season to this season by 1.58 goals per contest. Zeitz helped the Pioneers to a third-place finish in SAA regular-season play in the 2019 season under the guidance of first-year head coach Katie Hastings.
