Meade and McCarthy aim high at Emory Invitational

Stone Mountain, GA. – The #22 nationally ranked Transylvania University men's golf team took part in their second official tournament of the spring over the last two days at the Emory Spring Invitational in Stone Mountain, Georgia on Sunday and Monday, fielding five competitors.

The Pioneers shot a team score of 299 in Round One on Saturday and 314 in Round Two on Monday to finish the two day event with a collective 613 score. Senior Jeff Meade shot a team-best 151 with a two-day score of 75+76=. Meade finished with a +11 to finish in a tie for 35th place among the leaderboard.

Senior Nicholas McCarthy also joined Meade as he finished tied for 35th place after shooting a 75 and 76 for an identical 11-over par score and a 151.  

Senior Casey Gilligan followed his fellow upperclassmen just six spots behind and tied for 41th place, shooting +13 for the weekend.

The freshman Pioneer pair of Blake Young and Zach Treilobs tied for 50th and 60th place respectively with scores of 155 (15-over par) and 158 (18-over par).

Senior Hunter Cloud rounded out the group for Transylvania with a two day score of 167.

Next up for the Pioneers is the Manchester HCAC Preview, beginning on the weekend of April 16.
