Anderson, Ind. - The third round of the 2019 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships at the Anderson Country Club was cancelled on Saturday due to weather.
Rainy conditions at the Anderson Country Club made for an unplayable course, leading to the cancellation of the third of four rounds in the conference tournament. Teams will aim to play the final 18 holes of the tournament on Sunday morning with a projected 8:00 a.m. start time.
The Transylvania men's golf team enters the final round of the tournament with a 28-stroke lead over second-place Earlham; the Pioneers are aiming for what would be their 13th consecutive conference tournament championship and subsequent NCAA Men's Golf National Championship berth. Transylvania University is hosting the NCAA Division III Men's Golf National Championships for the first time in program history at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky, offering the Pioneers the opportunity to compete at its home course for the first time in its 13-year run to the national championships.
Transylvania senior Blake Young is atop the individual leaderboard after two rounds; Young carded an even-par 144 over the first two rounds last weekend at the University Club of Kentucky in Lexington.
