Lexington, Ky. – Five Pioneers registered multi-goal games as the Transylvania men's lacrosse team cruised to a 21-2 victory over the Bethany College Bison at Pat Deacon Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The game served as the Ohio River Men's Lacrosse Conference opener for Transylvania, which now boasts an overall record of 2-2 on the season.
With the loss, Bethany falls to 1-2 on the season, and 0-1 in ORLC play.
Sophomore attack Trenton Sneed was an integral part of the Pioneers' attack throughout the afternoon, scoring four goals and recording five assists for nine total points in the Transylvania victory.
Senior attack Brad Clements recorded his second hat-trick of the season, scoring four goals to go along with two assists on the day.
The Pioneers took control of the game early, racing out to a 6-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
After Bethany scored its first goal of the day early in the second quarter, the Pioneers reeled off five straight goals to push the lead to 12-1 at the half.
Transylvania continued to dominate Bethany throughout the second half, outscoring the Bison 9-1 over the final thirty minutes of play en route to the Pioneers' 21-2 victory.
Sophomore defender Ben Kraft tuned in a stellar defensive performance for the Pioneers that included six caused turnovers and five ground balls.
Coming up next, the Pioneers will travel to Baltimore, Maryland to face the Connecticut College Camels in a neutral-site showdown on Tuesday, March 13. The game, which will be played on John Hopkins University's Homewood Field, is set for a 12:00 p.m. start.
