|Title:||Volunteer Assistant Coach|
Brandon Heller enters his second season with the Transylvania men’s lacrosse team as a volunteer assistant for the 2020 season.
A former standout four-year student-athlete for the Pioneers from 2015 through 2018, Heller returned to the Transylvania men’s lacrosse program in 2018 as a member of the coaching staff.
A two-way midfielder during his playing days, Heller has been an integral part of the player development and dominance of the Pioneers’ face-off unit and on both sides of the ball since returning to Transy in a coaching capacity. Heller’s work with the Pioneer face-off unit was instrumental in Transylvania finishing ninth in the country in face-off winning percentage. Under Heller’s tutelage, all four of Transylvania’s draw specialists finished with a winning clip of over 60 percent.
In addition to his duties with the face-off and midfield units, Heller works with the Pioneer coaching staff in the film room as an analytics specialist when scouting opponents.
Outside of his work with the Transylvania men’s lacrosse program, Heller’s coaching endeavors include coaching with prep programs, including the Commonwealth Kings and the Central Pennsylvania Dawgs Lacrosse programs.
During his collegiate career at Transylvania, the former Pioneer team captain was a member of the Ohio River Lacrosse Conference All-Sportsmanship Team and anchored the man-down unit. Heller’s play helped lead the Pioneers to four straight ORLC Championships and two straight appearances into the NCAA Tournament.
A native of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, Heller is currently pursuing his Ph. D in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Kentucky.
