Wilmore, Ky. – The Transylvania swimming and diving team commenced the 2017-18 season with a trek to the campus of Asbury University to face the Asbury University Eagles in a Saturday afternoon dual match.
Saturday's meet marked the first meet for the Pioneers under first-year head coach Dave Doolin as they took the road for a visit with Asbury.
The Asbury women's team finished the day with a 141-60 victory against the Pioneers, while the Eagles men's contingent won 133-50 against the Transy men's side.
The Transylvania men picked up big wins in the 100 breaststroke and the men's 200 individual medley. Freshman Drew Dodds secured his first career win in the men's 200 individual medley, finishing in 2:03.42, more than five seconds ahead of the second-place finisher in the race. Dodds was also the first to touch the wall with a 1:03:00 finish in the men's 100 breaststroke.
