Lexington, Ky. –The Transylvania men's tennis team saw their two-match match win streak come to an end in a matchup with the Earlham College Quakers, who handed the Pioneers a 9-0 defeat at Top Seed Tennis Club on Wednesday night.
With the loss, Transylvania falls to 8-11 on the season, and 4-3 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play, placing them in a tie for fourth place in the conference standings with one match remaining in the regular season.
In the No. 2 singles match, Kouhkna appeared primed to claim Transylvania's first victory of the night before eventually falling in straight-sets, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2.
The Quakers went on to sweep the remaining singles matches to claim the 9-0 match victory.
The Pioneers will wrap up the regular season with an 11:00 a.m. matchup against the Anderson University Ravens on Saturday, April at the Transylvania Tennis Courts. Prior to the match, Transylvania will honor graduating seniors Daniel Cooper and Brandon Stofleth with a Senior Day Ceremony.
