Culver City, Calif. – Transylvania softball sophomore pitcher Kameron Bowling has been selected to the Fastpitch News 2019 NCAA DIII All-American Team as an Honorable Mention, the outlet announced on Wednesday.
Bowling, a sophomore from Louisville, Kentucky (Holy Cross HS) earned her first selection to the FPN All-American team after completing a stellar sophomore campaign for the Pioneers during the 2019 season.
This past season, Bowling led her conference in wins, delivering a win-loss record of 19-8 with three saves as she displayed her versatility from the circle. The sophomore tabulated a 1.72 ERA, a figure which ranked fourth in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
The sophomore was a dominant force in the HCAC, leading the conference in strikeouts and fewest walks among starters; Bowling dealt 164 strikeouts and averaged 6.4 strikeouts per game while walking 58 batters over the course of the season.
Bowling led the HCAC in innings pitched (179.1), games started (24), and shutouts with five.
Following the end of the regular season, Bowling ranked in the top-30 nationally in strikeouts and inside the top-40 for earned-run average.
Bowling registered 10 strikeouts in three different games over the 2019 season, highlighted by a 15-strikeout winning performance in the NCAA Regionals versus Emory & Henry this past month.
Bowling was also named an NFCA All-Region First Team selection for the first time in her career last month and the HCAC Pitcher of the Year to add to her list of achievements following the 2019 season.
The sophomore was one of 20 pitchers selected for Fastpitch News' All-American honors from across Division III softball spanning First, Second, and Honorable Mention teams.
