Lexington, Ky. – The Transylvania women's basketball team has surged upward in both of the authoritative Top 25 polls in NCAA Division III women's college basketball, reaching a ranking of #11 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Poll and #10 in the Top 25 poll.

Released late last week, the Pioneers moved up from 13 to 11 in the WBCA poll while the Pioneers moved up six spots to #10 in the poll, released on Monday evening.

The No. 10 ranking marks the first time the Pioneers have ever been ranked in the top 10 of the Top 25 poll; Transylvania's previous highest ranking was #13 during Week 12 of the 2014-2015 season. The Pioneers ended last season ranked #17 in the final edition of the Top 25 poll. The Pioneers are one of 15 undefeated teams in this week's edition of the Top 25.

For the first time in program history, the Pioneers appeared in both polls' preseason Top 25 rankings last month.

The Pioneers went 2-0 last week, picking up a pair of road wins at Berea College with a 65-57 victory last Tuesday, and on Saturday at Wittenberg University, winning 59-56.

Transylvania will put its undefeated record on the line this weekend at the Pat Deacon Classic with an 8:00 p.m. contest on Friday, November 29 versus Maryville (Tenn.) College and on Saturday night at either 4:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. at the Clive M. Beck Center.
