Carmel, Ind. – Transylvania women's basketball senior guard Shelby Boyle has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for women's basketball, the conference announced on Monday.
Boyle, a senior from Morgantown, West Virginia (Morgantown HS), becomes the first winner of the conference award for the 2019-20 season. The senior claimed the award after leading her team to a victory over the Spalding University Golden Eagles on Tuesday, November 12.
Boyle scored 22 points on a 9-for-12 shooting performance in the Pioneers’ 79-57 victory over the Golden Eagles in 38 minutes of play. Additionally, Boyle knocked down four three-pointers in the victory. The senior also tallied three assists, six rebounds, and three blocks as the Pioneers move to 1-0 on the season.
This is the second HCAC player of the week award of Boyle’s career (week of February 5, 2018).
Boyle and the Pioneers return to play on Tuesday, November 19, as they travel to Berea, Kentucky, for a non-conference matchup against the Berea College Mountaineers. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Eastern time at the Seabury Center.
