Moir leads Transy peers at Bulldog Invitational in California

Indio, Calif. – Junior golfer Meredith Moir led a trio of Transylvania women's golf team individuals at the two-round Bulldog Classic hosted by University of Redlands at Indian Springs Golf Course on Tuesday.

Starting off the tournament Monday with a team-low 83, Moir followed up Tuesday with an 84 to complete the second round of play with a total score of 167. Moir's finish slotted the junior in a tie for 46th place out of 99 individuals.

Moir was joined by two other golfers in the two-day tournament; sophomore Lexie Lamar followed with a two-round 171 while junior Jenna Soderling carded a 177 total score.

The tournament marked the first trip to the west coast for the Pioneers in the 2017-2018 season as Transylvania competed against a field with 20 different programs represented.

The Pioneers now look ahead to their next competition on Sunday, April 8 as they head to Dickson, Tennessee for the Sewanee Women's Invitational. The two-round tournament will be held at the Greystone Golf Club.
