Gulf Breeze, Fla. - The Transylvania women's lacrosse team wrapped up its spring break voyage in Florida with a resounding 21-8 victory over the Birmingham-Southern College Panthers on Saturday morning.

The Pioneers' fourth-straight win propels the team to an overall record of 6-1 and 1-0 in the Ohio River Women's Lacrosse Conference, while Birmingham-Southern falls to 2-5 on the season.

Reining ORLC offensive player of the week Shelby Wuest led the Pioneers with seven goals and two assists in the victory.

The duo of freshman midfielder Salem Carlow and senior attack Julia Ward each added four goals in the Pioneers' fourth 20-plus goal game of the year.

Also scoring multiple goals for Transylvania was junior midfielder Emma Oliver, who added two goals and two assists on the day.

The Pioneers' defense turned in a strong showing by holding the Panthers to just eight goals, their fewest of the season, and far below their season average of 18.3 goals per game.

Junior goalkeeper Mackenzie Dent recorded five saves as she earned the victory for Transylvania before giving way to freshman Hayle Hall, who tallied two saves in relief of Dent.

Up next, the Pioneers will return to ORLC play as they travel to New Wilmington, Pennsylvania to face the Westminster College Titans on Saturday, March 24. First draw between the Pioneers and the Titans is set for 12:00 p.m. at Burry Stadium.
