Transylvania women's lacrosse shuts out Thomas More for 10th straight win

Lexington, Ky. – The Transylvania women's lacrosse team extended its win streak to 10 games as the Pioneers defeated the Thomas More Saints 21-0 at Pat Deacon Stadium on Tuesday night.

The win is Transylvania's first shutout of the season, and it improves the Pioneers' record to 12-1 overall and 7-0 in Ohio River Women's Lacrosse Conference play while the Saints fall to 0-5 on the season.

Freshman attack Shelby Wuest led the Pioneers on offense with four goals and four assists while freshman midfielder Olivia Livingston also added a career-high four goals in the victory.

Reigning ORLC Defensive Player of the Week Emma Oliver continued to build upon her recent stretch of magnificent performances. The junior midfielder scored two goals, tallied five assists, scooped five ground balls, recorded five draw controls, and caused a turnover.

The Pioneers showed glimpses of offensive brilliance throughout the first half, outshooting the Saints 29-0 en route to a 16-0 lead at the half.

With the game under control, the Pioneers made use of their bench throughout the second half as they cruised to the eventual 21-0 victory.

Junior goalkeeper Mackenzie Dent was credited with the victory for the Pioneers after getting the start in net before giving way to freshman Hayle Hall in the second half.

The Pioneers will look to build their current win streak to 11 straight games when they host the Waynesburg University Yellow Jackets on Saturday, April 14. First draw between the Yellow Jackets and the Pioneers is set for 10:00 a.m. at Pat Deacon Stadium.
