Grand Lake, Colo. – Three student-athletes from the Transylvania women's lacrosse team were selected to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Zag Sports Academic Honor Roll, the IWLCA announced Wednesday.
Seniors MacKenzie Dent and Emma Oliver each earned their second consecutive IWLCA Academic Honor Roll awards while junior Brianna McCulley earned her first Academic Honor Roll in her first season of eligibility for the award.
Dent, a Transylvania Class of 2019 graduate from Alpharetta, Georgia (Johns Creek HS) completed a stellar career for the Pioneers this past spring while majoring in biochemistry.
Oliver, a Transylvania Class of 2019 graduate from Louisville, Kentucky (Ballard HS) graduated with a degree in Biology in May after wrapping up a decorated career for the Pioneers as a four-year starter.
McCulley, a junior from Milford, Ohio (Milford HS) punctuated another terrific year for the Pioneers on the field while majoring in Exercise Science.
Student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic grade-point average of 3.50 or greater in order to be eligible for the annual award given by the IWLCA.
Along with their academic accomplishments, Dent, Oliver, and McCulley led a Pioneers squad to their second consecutive conference championship and second successive straight berth into the NCAA Division III Tournament.
The IWLCA represents women's lacrosse coaches from all three levels of the NCAA and the NAIA, and whose mission is to cultivate the growth of intercollegiate women's lacrosse.
