Berea, Ky. – The offense was on display early and often on Friday night as the Transylvania women's soccer team picked up a 6-0 victory over the Berea College Mountaineers at the Berea College Sports Complex.

With the win, Transylvania's record improves to 2-5-1 on the season, while Berea falls to 1-8.

The offensive outburst was the Pioneers' largest scoring clip since an 8-0 victory over Defiance in October 2018.

The Pioneers jumped out to a 1-0 lead four minutes into the game on a goal from Meaghan Curren.

Transylvania extended the lead to 2-0 just before the halftime break when Meron Roach scored off an assist from Brooke Puterbaugh.

In the 59th minute, Emily Payne sent a pass up to Brett Edwards, whose shot found the back of the net for the senior's first goal of the season.

After Roach scored her second goal of the night, Cassandra Thomas blasted a shot past the Berea goalkeeper for her first score of the season.

The Pioneers capped off the night with Edwards' second goal of the night, a strike that pushed the final score to 6-0 in favor of the Pioneers.

Transylvania goalkeeper Morgan Patton collected two saves in 45 minutes of action before giving way to
Sloan Cromwell
, who secured the shutout in the second half.

The Pioneers return home to wrap up a busy week with a matchup against the Adrian College Bulldogs tomorrow afternoon. First touch between the Bulldogs and Pioneers is set for noon at Pat Deacon Stadium.
