Transylvania women's soccer overpowered by Adrian at home on Saturday

Lexington, Ky. – The Transylvania women's soccer team wrapped up a busy week with a 7-0 loss to the Adrian College Bulldogs at Pat Deacon Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Pioneers were led on offense by Meron Roach, who tallied two shots on goal in the loss.

As the temperatures soared on the field, the Bulldogs' offense scorched Transylvania to the tune of 24 shots in comparison to just three for the Pioneers. Adrian also held a 9-0 advantage in earned corner kicks.

After 20 minutes of scoreless play, the Adrian offense went to work as the Bulldogs netted four goals over the final 25 minutes of the half.

Adrian continued the onslaught into the second half, pushing the lead to 7-0 in the 67th minute on a goal from Makenna Mascaro.

The Bulldogs' final score came in the 81st minute, pushing the final tally to 8-0 in favor of Adriane.

Goalkeeper Morgan Patton tallied four saves in the first half before giving way to Sloan Cromwell, who collected a season-high five saves in the second half of the Transylvania loss.

Up next, the Pioneers will open HCAC play with a matchup against the Anderson University Ravens on Saturday, October 5. First touch between Pioneers and the Ravens is set for noon at Pat Deacon Stadium.
