Transylvania women's soccer falls to Hanover at home on Wednesday

Lexington, Ky. – The Transylvania women's soccer team fell to the Hanover College Panthers by the final score of 3-1 at Pat Deacon Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Panthers opened up a 1-0 lead over the Pioneers with a goal by Brandi Brock less than10 minutes into the game. Hanover extended its lead to 2-0 at the halftime break thanks to a goal from Anna Smith in the 26th minute.

Trailing 2-0, the Pioneers offense came to life in the 69th minute when Alli Kling sent a corner kick towards the goal that was headed into the back of the net by Brett Edwards.

Hanover responded with a scoring strike from Kayla Nowlin in the 85th minute that pushed the final score to 3-1 in favor of the Panthers.

With the result, Transylvania's record falls to 5-8-2 overall, and 3-2-1 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, while the Panthers improve to 8-5-1, and 5-1 in league play.

The Pioneers will continue their current homestand when they face the Bluffton University Beavers on Saturday, October 26. Before the game, the Pioneers will honor their two seniors with a Senior Day ceremony. First touch between the Pioneers and the Beavers is set for 1:00 p.m. at Pat Deacon Stadium.­
