Lexington, Ky. – The Transylvania women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Fightin' Engineers on Sunday afternoon.
The No. 5 singles match was one of the most competitive of the day as Bruther claimed the first set against Linde Schaffer 6-3, before dropping the last two 1-6, (5-10).
After a string of Rose-Hulman victories in singles play, freshman Madison Campbell earned a 6-3, 6-4 Transylvania victory in the No. 6 singles matchup.
Up next, the Pioneers will break from Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play as they visit the in-state rival Centre College Colonels on Wednesday, September 27. The match between the Pioneers and the Colonels is set for a 4:30 p.m. start at the Centre College Tennis Courts.
