Greenwood, Ind. – For the second straight week, Transylvania women's tennis freshman Porsche Robinson has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for women's tennis, the conference announced Tuesday.
Robinson, a freshman from Houston, Texas (Stratford HS) posted a strong second week of her collegiate career, tallying two wins in No. 1 singles play and No. 1 doubles play as the Pioneers took on three different team opponents this past week.
The freshman claimed her first victory of the week on Wednesday against Midway. Robinson won 6-3, 6-3 in No. 1 singles and then paired with Jessica Burton to win 8-3 in No. 1 doubles.
Robinson continued an impressive week with a 2-6, 6-3, 10-8 win against Otterbein's Sydney Bergman in No. 1 singles play on Sunday, and also notched a second No. 1 doubles win on Saturday versus Ohio Wesleyan, bringing her record to 4-2 for the week.
Robinson has claimed the conference player of the week honors in both weeks it has been awarded thus far.
Transylvania women's tennis returns to action on Saturday, September 15 as it welcomes Manchester University to the Transylvania Tennis Complex on campus at 9:00 a.m. as the Pioneers commence HCAC play.
