Transylvania women's tennis falls to Wittenberg at Top Seed on Friday

Lexington, Ky. – The Transylvania women's tennis team dropped an exhilarating match to the Wittenberg University Tigers by the final score of 6-3 at Top Seed Tennis Club on Friday afternoon.

Transylvania fell behind early in the match, dropping two of the three doubles matches. The Pioneers' lone victory came from the team of Porsche Robinson and Jessica Burton who cruised to an 8-2 victory in No. 1 doubles action.

Robinson built upon her successful day with a 6-4, 7-5 victory in No. 1 singles play. However, the Tigers went on to with the next three matches to claim the overall victory.

The Pioneers' final victory of the day came via Reagan Jobe, who battled to a 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-4) victory in No. 5 singles play.  

The Pioneers will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as they take on the Covenant College Scots. The match is set for a 3:00 p.m. start at Berea College.
