HARRISONBURG, VA— Transylvania improved to 4–4 on the season with a commanding 16–4 victory over Eastern Mennonite on Monday.

The Pioneers set the tone early, scoring five goals in the opening quarter to take control of the game. Chandler Worth and Sofie Garrett each scored two goals in the opening quarter, with Kaelin Truman adding one, for the Pioneers to take a 5-1 lead into the second quarter. Avery Kirkhope recorded two goals in the second, while Lilly Craft and Berkley Harlow added to a four goal quarter to give the Pioneers a 9-3 halftime advantage. 

Avery Kirkhope led the offense with four goals, while Sofie Garrett recorded three goals and an assist. Lilly Craft, Kaelin Truman, and Chandler Worth each added two goals. Grace Bruner, Berkley Harlow, and Presley Helton also scored for the Pioneers.

Harlow led the team with two assists, while Garrett, Ellie Falk, and Helton each recorded one. In goal, Ruby Himes earned the win with two saves as the Pioneer defense held Eastern Mennonite to just five shots on goal.

Transylvania finished with advantages in shots (44–10) and ground balls (30–15) while forcing 38 turnovers.

The Pioneers return to action on Thursday, traveling to Bridgewater College at 3:00 p.m.
