LEXINGTON, KY - Transylvania Athletics has announced the hiring of Collin Schneider as an Athletic Trainer.
Schneider is no stranger to Transylvania, having previously worked with the Pioneers as an Athletic Training Student through Bluegrass Orthopaedics in the fall of 2024. During his time at Transylvania, Schneider provided athletic training services for the volleyball, men's and women's basketball, and men's lacrosse programs. He assisted with therapeutic and rehabilitation plans for acute, chronic, and post-surgical injuries while gaining experience with return-to-sport protocols and preseason baseline concussion evaluations.
Before his time with the Pioneers, Schneider gained Division I experience with the University of Florida football program in the summer of 2024. While with the Gators, he assisted the athletic training staff with rehabilitation protocols, taping and bracing, injury prevention measures, pre-participation exams, and first-aid coverage. Schneider also gained experience utilizing a HydroWorx therapy pool and AlterG treadmill.
Schneider's additional athletic training experience includes serving as a student aide at the Transylvania University Volleyball Invitational and the Jim Green Track & Field Invitational, as well as assisting with pre-participation physical exams at Georgetown College.
Schneider was awarded the Thomas C. Robinson Graduate Fellowship Scholarship in 2023 and was named to the Dean's List at Eastern Kentucky University. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association and Kentucky Athletic Trainers' Society.
Schneider joins Transylvania after completing his Master of Science in Athletic Training at the University of Kentucky in 2025. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science from Eastern Kentucky University in 2023.
