Field Hockey Falls To Allegheny

MEADVILLE, PA. — Transylvania University field hockey fell to Allegheny College 11-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Allegheny established an early advantage with four goals in the opening quarter before adding one in the second to take a 5-0 lead into halftime. The Gators added three goals in both the third and fourth quarters to close out the contest.

Transylvania generated its first scoring opportunity early in the second quarter. After consecutive penalty corners, Lucy Cohen put a shot on goal at the 15:51 mark, forcing a save from Allegheny goalkeeper Rowan O'Toole.

The Pioneers created another opportunity late in the third quarter when Anna Donadio earned a penalty corner. Hannah Waterson followed with a shot that was blocked. Cohen and Waterson accounted for Transylvania's two shots in the contest, with Cohen recording the Pioneers' lone shot on goal.

Graci Adcock played all 60 minutes in goal for Transylvania in her season debut and finished with nine saves. The Pioneers generated six penalty corners, including three in the second quarter, while Allegheny finished with eight.

The Pioneers continue their road trip with a Sunday matchup with Washington and Jefferson at noon.
