SPRINGFIELD, OHIO — Transylvania University Field Hockey fell 7-0 to Wittenberg University on Saturday afternoon at Edwards-Maurer Field.
Wittenberg opened the scoring at the 5:07 mark on a goal from Livinia Walsh and carried a 1-0 advantage through the opening quarter. Walsh struck again at 27:28 to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead entering halftime.
The Tigers extended their advantage with three goals in the third quarter. Anna Uhlenhake scored at 35:33 before Lauren Singery found the back of the net at 37:44. Walsh completed her hat trick at 41:12 to make it 5-0 entering the fourth. Transylvania continued to battle in the final period and generated an opportunity in the 51st minute. Hannah Gourley put an attempt on goal at 50:40, forcing a save from Wittenberg goalkeeper Emily Rock, before Anna Donadio earned a penalty corner eight seconds later.
Wittenberg added two goals over the closing five minutes, with Singery scoring her second of the afternoon at 55:31 and Maddy Krasnow closing the scoring at 57:44.
Graci Adcock played all 60 minutes in goal for the Pioneers and recorded 10 saves. Transylvania generated three penalty corners, while Felice Pappalardo and Laney O'Connell were each credited with a shot.
