Kyle Sutton

Kyle Sutton will enter his 10th year at Transylvania during the 2025-2026 school year. The Lima,OH native brings almost 20 years of experience ranging from the high school, collegiate, and professional levels.

In 2024, Sutton was named as The Director of Sports Medicine at Transylvania University. In 2023, he was named as The Kentucky Athletic Training Society Collegiate Athletic Trainer of the Year.

Prior to his arrival at Transylvania in 2016, Sutton was the Head Athletic Trainer at nearby Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington for the 2015-2016 academic year and the Head Athletic Trainer at Westerville Central High School in Westerville, Ohio from 2008 through 2015.

While at Westerville Central, Sutton was awarded the GEM (Great Educator Mentor) Award and The Ohio State University Preceptor of the Year Award for Athletic Training in 2015.

From 2006 to 2008, Sutton was based in Stillwater, Oklahoma where he obtained his master's degree from Oklahoma State University. While a graduate student at OSU, Sutton served as the primary Athletic Trainer for the Cowboys baseball team.

Before beginning his career in athletics, Sutton received his Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Medical Professions from The Ohio State University in 2006 and Masters of Science in Applied Exercise Science from Oklahoma State University in 2008.
Sutton resides in Lexington with his wife, Meg, and two daughters, Ellie and Lena
