LEXINGTON, KY - Following the announcement of Transylvania University's 27th intercollegiate athletic program, STUNT, for 2025, Transylvania University has named Tora Carter as the program's inaugural Head Coach. 

"We're excited to have Tora Carter lead our new STUNT program," said Jeff Chaney, acting vice president for athletics. "Her experience and success make her the ideal coach to build a strong program. We're confident in her ability to elevate Transylvania STUNT to new heights."

Carter has been with Transylvania since 2005 and has held positions as the Head Dance Coach and the Head Cheer Coach. Carter recently led the Pioneers to several notable achievements: National Dance Association (NDA) Collegiate Most Improved, NDA Collegiate Best Team Dance, first, and third Place in Division III Pom at the NDA Collegiate Championship.

Carter has a wide variety of professional experience within the field of cheer and dance as she has previously been the Lady Legends Head Dance Coach and Coordinator for the Lexington Legends. Furthermore, Carter was a Wildcat Danzer, Louisville Fire Arena Football Cheerleader, Louisville Horsemen Arena Football Cheerleader, Lexington Legends Dugout Danzer, and Kentucky Thoroughblades Thoroughbabe. 

Carter is excited about giving students new opportunities at Transylvania and launching the STUNT program.

This new program is one of the fastest growing female sports in the country and aims to not only enhance the athletic experience, but also offer new opportunities for both the student athletes and the fans. Transylvania STUNT will join 16 other Division III schools, and be the third university in the state of Kentucky to the University of Kentucky and Northern Kentucky with a NCAA STUNT team.
