SANDESTIN, FL.-The 15th-ranked Transylvania University men's golf team capped off a stellar performance with a third-place finish at the prestigious Golfweek October Classic, held at Raven Golf Club in Sandestin, Florida.
The Pioneers saved their best for last, firing a final-round 282 (-2) to climb the leaderboard and finish the 54-hole event at 860 (+8). Transylvania was one of only three teams to break par in Tuesday's final round, surging past several nationally ranked opponents to secure a podium finish in a deep 24-team field.
Transylvania's lineup delivered under pressure across the board:

Tom Buchert led the charge with a brilliant 2-under 69, climbing into a tie for eighth at 215 (+2).

Ty Ruttinger stayed steady throughout, closing with an even-par 71 to finish T-19 (216, +3).

Andy Steed bounced back in a big way, matching Ruttinger's 71 for his best round of the week.

William Carr and Seth Hickerson each carded a 74 (+3) to complete the scoring and secure the Pioneers' top-three team finish.
