"I can't wait to get started with these amazing young athletes. Being here just feels right. Feels like home. I know what I bring to the table, all I need now is for my squad to be hungry. Hungry enough to be better than they were last year. Hungry enough to build that confidence that will last a lifetime. I am here to teach. To guide them into believing in becoming great, not only on the track but off it as well. I mean if we just so happen to win while doing it, then that's a plus," said Coach Mont.
Having earned a bachelor of arts from the University of Kentucky and an associate degree from Wilmington College, Lawson went on to earn a masters in mental health and applied behavior analysis and now is a mental health therapist.
"We are excited to welcome Coach Larmont Lawson to our Transy Track Family. Coach Lawson brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm to our Sprints and Jumps program. We have known each other for over a decade and when the position became available I knew that he could be a huge asset to help our program achieve its goals of winning conference championships and making nationals," said Head Coach Sean McNulty.
