Swim and Dive Defeat Wittenberg and Wilmington

Springfield, OH- The Transylvania Mens and Women's Swimming and Diving team were back in the pool this weekend competing against Wittenberg University and Wilmington College. It was a victorious meet for the Pioneers defeating both teams in the Men's and Women's category, defeating Wittenberg Men's 214-53, and defeating Women's 164-109. The Pioneers defeated Wilmington in Men's 168-112 and Women's 190-89. 

The Men's team is undefeated so far this season while the Women's team creates a two game win streak. 

Adam Tichy won the 1000 yard Freestyle posting a 11:02.52 with second place falling to Aiden Rock, who posted a 11:07.59. to outpace the competition by 35+ seconds. For the Women's 1000 yard Freestyle, Delaney McPherson won with a time of11:44.11, finishing minutes before the rest of the compeititon. McPherson would win the 500 Freestyle with a 5:42.01 while Charlotte Green came in second with a time of 5:59.87 

In the 100 yard Backstroke Kole Brannock won with a time 54.67 in a narrow race winning by .02 seconds. MacKnzie Farner took care of business in the Women's 100 yard Backstroke with a 1:07.86. Connor Hood would win the Men's 200 yard Backstroke with a time of 2:05.88. He was followed by Lukas Mclntrye-Quinn winning the 200 yard Breaststroke posting a 2:20.72.

In the Men's 200 yard Butterfly Mason Howard won with a speedy 2:15.47 to be closely followed by Draden Shearer with a time of 2:18.61. Howard would also win the 100 yard Butterfly with a time of 53.6. Isaiah Perkins won the Men's 50 yard Freestyle at 23.32 seconds. Connor Hood won the Men's 200 yard Backstroke with a time of 2:05.88, followed by Lukas Mclntrye-Quinn winning the 200 yard Breaststroke posting a 2:20.72. 

In the IM department both the Men and Women would win as Mclntyre-Quinn won with a time of 2:02.93. Olivia Greinke won for the Women as she would post a 2:29.61. The Swim category would be capped by a great Women's 200 yard relay as Transy came in first thanks to the efforts of Hannah Tapp, Mary Grace Thompson, Delaney McPherson, and Charlotte Green with a 1:45.68

Transy would sweep in the Diving category in both divisions as the 1 meter was won in Men's by Ballard Wheatly (141.3) and then won in Women's by Mackie Redford (245.86). Wheatley and Redford would win the 3 meter dive as well with a time of 180.09 and 267.53 respectively.

"It was great to see the growth we had this week," Dave Doolin said.  "They are starting to believe in themselves and that is a powerful thing for a team."
