Swim and Dive fall short in home opener

Men lose 115-169 and Women lose 78- 221

LEXINGTON - The Transylvania Men's and Women's Swim and Dive Team competed in their fifth meet this season against Franklin College. This is the first conference dual meet for the Pioneers battling HCAC foe Franklin who was voted first in Men's and second in Women's. This is the first time both Men's and Women's teams lost a combined meet this season.

This meet started with the 1 meter dive as Mackie Redford would continue to dominate this event, coming in first, scoring a 228.7. This would be the only dive where the Pioneers would place first but Garrett Craycraft would place second in both the 1 meter dive with a 213.25 and the 3 meter dive with a 215.9.

Transitioning to swimming events, the Pioneers placed first in the Men's 1000 yard Freestyle as Connor Hood won the race, finishing with a time of 10:55.37. Adam Tichy followed up, competing in the Men's 200 yard Freestyle, winning with a time of 1:52.8. Tichy would compete again in the Men's 500 yard Freestyle as he would win, finishing with a time of 5:10.28. 

In the Men's 100 yard Breaststroke, Lukas McIntyre-Quinn placed first, finishing the race with a time of 1:01.85. McIntyre-Quinn would go on to win the Men's 200 yard Breaststroke as well,  finishing with a time of  2:19.82. Finishing out the individual Men's winners, Kole Brannock would win the Men's 100 yard Butterfly finishing with a 53.04.  

Olivia Greinke would be the first individual in the Women's category for Transy to win a race, winning the Women's 100 yard Breaststroke, finishing with a time of 1:11.44. The Pioneers would only win one relay race, as Kaden Siler, Lukas McIntyre-Quinn, Kole Brannock and Jack Voss would be the team to win the Men's 200 yard Medley Relay, finishing with a time of 1:40.77. 

The Pioneers next meet will be November 16th-18th as the they'll compete in the Malone University Invitational in Canton, Ohio.
