Swim and Dive defeat Anderson in first meet of 2024

Women: 207-74. Men: 176-113

LEXINGTON- The Transylvanian Men's and Women's Swim and Dive Team competed in their first meet of the new year, taking on their second conference dual meet versus Anderson. The Pioneers would win this meet against the Ravens as the Women would finish 207-74 and the Men would finish 176-113 as both Men's and Women's teams have four dual meet wins so far this season.

Starting with the Dive team, Mackie Redford would pick up right where she left off last year winning both the Women's 1mtr and 3mtr dive. She would finish with 221.7 in the 1mtr dive and 231.05 in the 3mtr dive. Garrett Craycraft would place second in both the 1 meter and 3 meter dive finishing with a 211.1 in the 1meter and a 229.9 in the 3 meter. 

In the swimming category the Pioneers would finish 1st in all but 5 events. In relays the Pioneers would win the Women's and Men's 400 Yard Medley as the Women finish with a time of 4:26.26 and the Men finish with a time of 3:41.74. The Women would win the 200 Yard Freestyle relay finishing with a time of 1:45.45.

Delaney McPherson won the Women's 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 11:47.18. McPherson would also win the Women's 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:49.47. In the Women's 200 Yard Freestyle, Hannah Tapp won as she finished with a time of 2:09.67. Tapp would also win in the Women's 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 58.89. 

In the Women's 100 Yard Backstroke Mary Grace Thompson came in first with a time of 1:07.11. Thompson would also win the Women's 50 Yard Freestyle. Olivia Greinke would place first in the Women's 100 Yard Breaststroke, finishing with a time of 1:11.34. Greinke would place first in the Women's 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:40 then have a 3rd win on the day in the Women's 200 Yard IM with a time of 2:25.39. 

Kaden Siler would win the Men's 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 58.09. Kole Brannock would get into the mix winning the Men's 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:49.2. Brannock would go on to win the Men's 200 Yard Butterfly 2:05.16 as well as the Men's 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 52.72. 

Lukas McIntyre-Quinn would win the Men's 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:02.59. McIntyre-Quinn would also win the Men's 200 Yard Backstroke with a time of 2:21.47 and the Men's 200 Yard IM finishing with a time of 2:03.73. Jacob Young would win the Men's 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 50.41.

The Pioneers are back in action with another home meet as in-state rival Centre comes to Transy January 19th at 6:30.
