LEXINGTON, KY - Transylvania University Swim and Dive hosted Wittenberg and Wilmington on Saturday for their second meet of the 2024-25 season. The Men's Pioneers swept the afternoon, defeating Wittenberg 207-51 and Wilmington 155-98. The Women's Pioneers defeated Wilmington 192-68, but fell to Wittenberg 136-145.Â
Transylvania would secure the first place victory in the women's 200 yard medley relay as
Emerson Campbell,
Elliott Havens,
Mary Grace Thompson and
Charlotte Green won the event with a time of 1:56.52.
Jasmine Webb,
Leia Grannis,
Kate Kesler and
Allie Hinchman finished fourth in the event at a time of 2:09.91. Transy would finish second and third in the men's 200 yard relay as
Kaden Siler,
Isaiah Perkins,
Kole Brannock and
Roman Furuta finished with a time of 1:42.00.
Lukas McIntyre-Quinn, Joseph Kissing,
Braden Shearer and
Cooper Gross finished third at a time of 1:48.61.
Transy finished in the top three spots for the women's 200 yard freestyle as
Emerson Campbell finished at a time of 2:05.64,
Ameliya Lynn at 2:12.38 and
Charlotte Green at 2:12.54.Â
Kole Brannock won the 200 yard butterfly, finishing with an impressive 2:01.01 time.Â
Transy would have another strong performance in the women's 50 yard freestyle, once again finishing in the top three spots.
Mary Grace Thompson (26.13),
Emerson Campbell (26.56) and
Ameliya Lynn (26.85) led the way for the Pioneers.Â
In the men's 50 yard freestyle,
Isaiah Perkins would win the event with a time of 23.37, while
Bryce Highley would finish second with a time of 23.49.Â
Mary Grace Thompson would win the women's 100 yard freestyle with a time of 56.71, while
Emerson Campbell would secure the second place finish at a time of 57.14.Â
Adam Tichy would win the men's 500 yard freestyle at a time of 5:17.02. Joseph Kissing would take the victory for Transylvania in the men's 200 yard IM with a final time of 2:05.99.Â
Transy would also claim victory in the women's 200 yard freestyle relay as
Elliott Havens,
Ameliya Lynn,
Mary Grace Thompson and
Charlotte Green finished with a time of 1:44.68.Â
Kole Brannock seized the men's 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:07.49, while
Isaiah Perkins won the men's 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.33.Â
Head Coach
Dave Doolin was proud of his team's performance in a very successful afternoon of competition.Â
"I was really proud of how we swam," said Doolin. "We had quite a few swimmers compete in events they don't normally swim and they really rose to the occasion. Today is definitely something we can build on."
Up next for Transy is Union College on Friday, November 8th at 6:30 p.m. at the William T. Young Center.Â
