Transylvania Celebrates Seven Seniors and a Dominate HCAC Victory

LEXINGTON, KY - On Saturday, Transylvania celebrated seven seniors in the final meet at the William T. Young Campus Center. Senior day began with the celebration of the seniors and their families who have contributed greatly to the program. The seniors included: Ryan Finney (Haggerville, KY), Charlotte Green (Northville, MI), Lia Meazoa-Morillo (Lexington, KY), Aiden Rock (Louisville, KY), Kaden Siler from (Cincinnati, OH), Caroline Smith (Louisville, KY), and Mary Grace Thompson (Marshall County, KY). 

The Pioneers got off to a hot start winning both the men's and women's 4x100 Medley Relays. Next, the Pioneers continued their dominance with victories in the 200 Freestyle on both sides from Elliott Havens (2:05.41) and Kole Brannock (1:53.31). Furthermore, seniors Mary Grace Thompson and Charlotte Green placed first and second in the 50 freestyle.

On the men's side, Bryce Highly picked up his first collegiate win in the 50 freestyle in a time of 22.81. In the 200 Individual Medley, the Pioneers continued their dominance with victories from Kenz Farner (2:32.40) and Joseph Kissing (2:03.43). 

However, victories were not just limited to the starting blocks. Allie Hinchman and Cash Doolin both led the diving Pioneers to victories on the springboards. Havens and Brannock both secured their second wins of the day in the 100 yard butterfly. In the 100 Freestyle Emerson Campbell and Adam Tichy both picked up their first wins of the day. Amelia Lynn and Bryce Highly both continued success for Transylvania winning the 100 backstroke women's and men's respectively. 

Charlotte Green picked up her own win on senior day in the 500 freestyle with a final time of 5:53.67. Braden Shearer secured his first individual win of his college career in the 500 freestyle, winning in a final time of 5:20.32. Hinchman was then again crowned victorious on the 3 meter variant of the diving. This time, she was joined by Ballard Wheatley. In the last individual event of the day Leia Grannis and Joseph Kissing both secured crucial points for the Pioneers. Success in the relays was, yet again achieved with the men and women both coming out of top in the 4x100 Freestyle relay.
