LEXINGTON, KY — Transylvania fell to Wooster, 23–5, at Pat Deacon Stadium.
The Pioneers were led by Sofie Garrett, who scored two goals in the loss. Berkley Harlow recorded the team's lone assist. Transylvania finished with 18 shots, including 10 on goal, while making seven saves and committing 18 turnovers. The Pioneers also recorded nine clears and four ground balls.
Wooster scored the first goal of the afternoon, but Garrett put Transylvania on the board with her 17th goal of the season. Ellie Falk followed with a goal to give the Pioneers a 2–1 lead before Wooster tied the game at 2–2. Presley Helton then scored off an assist from Harlow to put Transylvania back in front, 3–2. Garrett added her second goal of the day to give the Pioneers a 4–3 lead at the end of the first period.
Wooster took control in the second period, outscoring Transylvania 9–1. The Fighting Scots opened the quarter with two quick goals to take a 5–4 lead, then added two more shortly afterward. Wooster extended its advantage with a fifth goal of the period to make it 8–4 and later added four more to build a 12–4 lead. Kaelin Truman scored her first goal of the game late in the period, sending the teams into halftime with Wooster ahead 12–5. Transylvania recorded 12 shots, including six on goal, in the first half.
Wooster continued to pull away in the second half, scoring twice early in the third period to extend the lead to 14–5. The Fighting Scots added three more goals in the quarter to outscore the Pioneers 5–0 in the period and take a 17–5 lead into the fourth.
Wooster closed out the game with six goals in the final period to secure the 23–5 victory. The loss drops Transylvania to 3–4 on the season.
