LEXINGTON, Ky. — Transylvania University freshman golfer Andy Steed added another milestone to a record-breaking season after being named a 2026 NCAA Division III PING All-America Honorable Mention selection, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Steed became one of just 28 golfers nationwide to earn Honorable Mention All-America recognition, joining an elite group of the nation's top Division III players. His selection capped one of the finest seasons by a freshman in Transylvania men's golf history.
"Andy had an incredible freshman year and earned every bit of this recognition," said Head Coach Brian Lane. "What makes his season so impressive is not only the awards and victories, but the consistency he displayed against outstanding competition throughout the year. He has a tremendous work ethic and holds himself to a very high standard. He will use this honor as a starting point to keep getting even better "
The freshman standout also swept the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's top individual honors, becoming the HCAC Golfer of the Year and HCAC Newcomer of the Year. He helped lead the Pioneers to a conference championship season while emerging as one of the top players in the region.
Steed's breakthrough campaign was highlighted by a school-record performance at the Fernandina Beach Collegiate Invitational in Florida, where he fired 12-under par to capture medalist honors and set a new Transylvania program record for lowest tournament score in relation to par. The victory propelled him up the national rankings and established him as one of Division III's top freshman.
Earlier in the season , Steed won his first individual title at the Rhodes College Invitational in Tunica, Mississippi.

With Steed returning to lead a talented core of Pioneers, Transylvania enters the 2026-27 season poised to continue its tradition as one of the nation's premier Division III golf programs.
