RICHMOND, Ind. – Transylvania's women's tennis team opened defense of its Heartland Conference championship by sweeping to a pair of wins over HCAC schools Saturday in the Pioneers' season-opening matches.

Transy defeated Hanover 5-0 and Earlham 6-0 to move to 2-0 on the season and 2-0 in HCAC play. The Pioneers are back in action on Sept. 11, traveling to Franklin to play the Grizzlies and Manchester.
