LEXINGTON, Ky. - Transylvania scored all three of its goals in the second half Wednesday and went on to take a 3-0 victory over Franklin in Heartland Conference women's soccer action at Hall Field.
The Pioneers improve their record to 7-4-1, 3-1 in HCAC play, while Franklin is 4-5-2, 0-2-2 in the league.
Neither team could manage a goal until
Ashley Cobane tallied her second goal of the year in the 63rd minute. That lead stood until
Amy Ghibaudy scored her fifth goal in the 82nd minute.
Alyssa Kruse's seventh goal in the 83rd minute capped the scoring.
Transy outshot the Grizzlies 13-0 and the Pioneers held a 5-1 advantage in corner attempts.
Jerrica Scovel did not face a shot on goal in the game for Transy. Ghibaudy and Kruse each had four shots for the Pioneers.
Transy will try to move up in the HCAC standings on Saturday, when it travels to Rose-Hulman for a 1 p.m. matchup with the Engineers.
