TERRA HAUTE, Ind. â€" Transylvania women's tennis remained unbeaten Sunday, moving into first place in the Heartland Conference standings with a 6-3 defeat of the Rose-Hulman Fighting Engineers.

No. 1 seeded sophomore
Claire Mielcarek, the 2012 HCAC MVP and Freshman of the Year, easily handled Rose-Hulman's Marie Stettler, 6-3, 6-2.
This week's HCAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, freshman
Laila El Dessouki, was challenged by Engineer Suzana Mohd, taking the second set to a tie breaker, but finishing victorious, 6-4, 7-6 (7-3).
Senior
Victoria Haugli was taken to three sets by her opponent Paige Cook, but managed a comeback win, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. No.4 seeded sophomore
Megan Dixon took both sets from Colleen Stevenson, 7-5, 7-5.
In doubles play, the duo of Mielcarek and El Dessouki dominated the Engineer's No. 1 doubles team of Marie Stettler and Suzanna Mohd in a 8-2 pro-set, and Transylvania's Haugli and Dixon handled Rose-Hulman's second seeded doubles, 8-4.
Transylvania will look to remain unbeaten in the Heartland Conference on Wednesday when they face Earlham College at 4 p.m. in Lexington.
