LEXINGTON, Ky. –The Transylvania University women's tennis team notched its third consecutive win with a 9-0 win over Berea College Saturday at the Transylvania Tennis Complex.
For the second straight match, the Pioneers picked up momentum early by taking doubles play 3-0. The duo of
Claire Mielcarek and
Megan Dixon posted an 8-6 win over Berea's Taylor Moyers and Kristol Witt in No. 1 doubles play. Lilli Williams and
Madison Miles added an 8-5 win over Christine Crawford and Alicia Bedolla, while
Jessica Shotwell and Jenna Nidffer sealed the sweep with an 8-1 win over Ashley Logan and Ashley Ferrell of Berea.
Mielcarek, Dixon, Williams and Shotwell also picked up wins in singles play while
Kearstin Bruther and
Myriah Porter added wins as well. Bruther defeated Alicia Bedolla 8-1 while Porter topped Ashley Logan 8-2 to give the Pioneers their second 9-0 win in three matches.
With the win, the Pioneers move to 3-1 on the season and travel to Hanover Wednesday for another Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match.
