Box Score LEXINGTON, Ky. – The seventh-ranked Saints of Thomas More College picked up a 5-0 win over the Transylvania University women's soccer team Thursday night at Pat Deacon Stadium.
The Pioneer defense thwarted numerous Thomas More attacks, before the Saints got on the board with a goal from Olivia Huber near the midway point of the first half.
Transy goalkeeper Ally Barfield and the defense came up with three stops on the ensuing Saints' possessions, before Erika LaRosa put the Saints up 2-0 in the 37th minute.
Following intermission, Thomas More extended its lead to 3-0 as Kait Owens found the net in the 48th minute. Julia Flagge-Echols added two goals in the final 28 minutes to seal the win for the Saints.
The Pioneers return to action Saturday as they host Heidelberg at Pat Deacon Stadium. Saturday's Military Appreciation game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Transylvania will recognize all active duty and military veterans and accept donations on behalf of Military Missions.
